The Senate adds 9 initiatives

Priority Agenda for 2008

The Senate of the Republic made public the Priority Legislative Agenda 2008, including the inclusion of nine legislative initiatives presented by the Executive power, the Senators and the House of Deputies.

Among these initiatives there is the Draft amendment of the Monetary and Financial Law, proposed by the Executive power, deposited on December 6, 2007 and which is in study at the Standing committee of Finances.

There is also the project of Civil Code procedure, proposed by Senator Andrés Bautista García and which is in study at the Standing committee of Justice and Human Rights.

In the same way, the draft amendment of the Dominican Civil code, suggested by Senator Reinaldo Pared Pérez is in study at the Standing committee of Justice and Human Rights.

Among these initiatives, we also find the bill claiming heavier sanctions for the crimes and infringements made by adults with the participation, the handling, the use or the complicity of children and teenagers, which modify article 339 of the Code of the Minors. This document was subjected by the Senator of Samaná, Doctor Prim Pujals Nolasco and is subjected to study at the Standing committee of Justice and Human Rights.

This information is detailed in a publication of the Press Management of the Senate, in which one informs that this resolution is signed by President Reinaldo Pared Pérez and the secretaries of the cabinet Dionis Alfonso Sánchez Carrasco and Rubén Darío Cruz Ubiera.

Alejandrina Germán inaugurated 21 schools in Nagua and Samaná

An investment higher than 274 million pesos

The Secretary of Education, Alejandrina Germán, went this Tuesday in the provinces of Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez to direct the inaugural ceremonies of 21 educational centers and to start the building work of two other establishments, for an investment of 274,636,527.04 pesos.

The civil servant stressed that we can currently affirm that during the governmental management of Doctor Leonel Fernández the country was strewn with schools.

The development of the educational centers brings to the national education a total of 245 new classrooms, for the Initial, Basic and Middle Education levels.

The building work, repair and extension of the educational centers involved expenses reaching the sum of 256,626,527.04 RD $, while for the equipment, the investment was of 18,010,000.00 RD $.

Germán inaugurated in theprovinceofSamanáthe educational centers of Los Castellalitos, Los Cacaos, Belka Morel Castillo, Rosa Anderson, Rancho Español, Eliseo Demorizi and Las Galeras.

While in Las Terrenas, she directed the inaugural ceremony of the building work of the center of Middle Education of the locality, which will be composed of 20 classrooms.

The total investment, including the equipment of the establishment, will be of 24,347,006.78 RD $.

In Las Terrenas, the construction of the center of Basic and Middle Education Santo Esteban Rivera also started, with an investment of 28,600,481.03 RD $.

The educational centers built in the provinces of Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez are composed of kitchen and toilet modules, of administrative sectors, natural science and data processing laboratories, multi-purpose hall, stadium with steps and installation of external spaces.

Leonel Fernández will cross the Samaná peninsula

The President extends his agenda to the Cibao and the North-eastern area

The president and presidential candidate of the Party of the Dominican Liberation (PLD), Leonel Fernández, will direct this weekend a concentration day in the areas of the North-western Line, the North-East and the Cibao Central.

On Sunday, the PLD and the political forces of the Progressist Block candidate will go in Samaná and La Vega, where he will be received by the senators of these provinces Prim Pujals and Euclides Sánchez and by the coordinators of his campaign, Felix Jiménez (Felucho) and Alma Fernández.

In Samaná, he will cross the center of the city and he will go then in the communes of Las Terrenas, Sánchez and El Limón.

Angsana Samaná Bay

An international tourist chain is coming

The five stars real tourist project Angsana Samaná Bay was presented in an exclusive restaurant of Santiago.

It is in the beautiful Bay of Samaná that this first class destination of the international firm Nexus RD will be installed.

The project Angsana Samaná Bay is marketed under the hotel brand Angsana Resort & Spa, which forms part of the Banyan Tree Hotel Group of Singapore.

It is a famous world hotel group which, on this occasion, participates to the development of Samaná as a tourist destination, according to its President Ho Kwon Ping.

The complex will be composed by marina apartments, residences and villas with sea view, a hotel with luxury suites, and a spa with integral service, and by a marina for 280 boats and almost 7 thousand meters of mooring.

During the meeting with friends and the press, Felipe Ferrer, Nexus RD Manager, said he was honored that Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts chose them to represent the project.

Nexus RD is a firm with a great experience in residential and commercial promotion, construction and operation of hotels and resorts, in the conceptualization of development plans as well as in the design and the operation of marinas.

Moreover, the firms which are in charge of the planning, drawing, construction, sale panning and marketing of the project were presented.
