Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the WorldBREAKING NEWS : The beauty of the Dominican Republic continues to transcend borders, as evidenced by the recent accession of Samaná and Rincón bays to the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World.
With this award, they became the first bays of the Caribbean region to be in this club, and place themselves at the same level as the bays of the United States and France.
This information was disclosed at a meeting of the Steering Committee of the club in the Spanish city of Santander.
Bays of Samaná and Rincón officially entered to this club and are the first in the Caribbean area, after the Golf of the Saintes
(Guadeloupe) to be recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
Comprising about 30 bays in the world in more than 20 countries, and sponsored by UNESCO, the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World
, created in 1997 and which has its headquarters in France, aims to the preservation, enhancement and promotion of natural, cultural and economic richness of the bays with prepared communities.
The worlds famous bay of Samaná and Rincon are found, such as San Francisco (United States), Ha Long (Vietnam), the Baie des Chaleurs
(Quebec, Canada), Golf Morbihan and the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel (France), the Bay of Santander (Spain), or the bay of Bodrum (Turkey).

With this membership in this club Bays Samaná and Rincon is a great opportunity for greater recognition at international level and a positive local impact.
The bid project and the Samaná Rincón began last February, and received the support of the Government, local authorities, community of Samaná, the commercial sector and NGOs.
Coordinated by Luc Litzler, the project has received early support from the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Cluster of Samaná (USAID-DSTA) and ASODEGA (Association for the Development of Las Galeras.

Development of SamanáBREAKING NEWS: The Public Works Ministry and the contractor Boulevard Turístico del Atlántico
advance at a good pace the construction of the boulevard by the same name, at a cost of 160 million dollars, to boost Samaná Peninsula’s accessibility and tourism development.
The 123 kilometer road circuit links Nagua, Sanchez and Samaná and from there it continues to El Lemon and Las Terrenas, to El Catey International Airport.
The contractor works round the clock in the first, 34 kilometer section from Nagua to Sanchez, paving 2 kilometers weekly. Another section expected to be finished by year end is the bypass at Las Terrenas, from El Portillo Airport to the Sanchez highway crossing.
Public Works and the construction company are also blasting of some of the rock promontories with dynamite, as the extracted material is then used on the La Majagua-Playa Cozón-Las Terrenas seaside roadway.
In other sections heavy equipment, workers and technicians design and expand banks, and shore up the existing road base. So far more than 8 kilometers of highway at Nagua’s exit has been paved.
In that section more 3,000 meters of asphalt have been placed as base material, and once concluded a final 2 inch heated asphalt layer will be applied.

These are intended to boost the area economicallyBREAKING NEWS: The Government is constructing the scenic route municipalities Sánchez, Las Terrenas, with a length of about 20km.
The Department of Public Works also rebuilds the road between the municipalities of Samaná, Las Terrenas, Limón and El Portillo, and works on the road Samana-Las Galeras.
Another work requested by the community is the multiple aqueducts that will supply potable water to residents of Samaná and Sánchez.
The airport in the community of El Portillo in the coastal town of Las Terrenas is about to subject him to repair its runways and its surroundings.
Through national property, 800 homes are being built to rehouse families affected by the collapses that occurred in Sánchez.
To meet the expectations of inhabitants of Samaná, the Government has invested about six million pesos in the rebuilding of Santa Barbara Catholic Church and the Gospel of Saint Peter, the Adventist and others.
It is expected that at least three cruise ships include Samana their tourist route for its natural beauty, beaches and hospitality of its inhabitants.
On the other hand, the Government has invested over one million pesos to install an economic restaurant with a production capacity exceeding the 5,000 food rations.
